Position title
Network Engineer

The Network Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and growing the network as well as troubleshooting issues as they come up. This is a telecom network along with support of the corporate offices as needed for wireless/LAN/WAN. This role will report and work closely with the IP Engineering Manager as well as the rest of the engineering teams.


• Collaborate with other team members and groups to identify and develop scalable network designs, solutions, and policy recommendations

• Troubleshoot, maintain and deploy network as needed

• Performs analysis of network security needs and contribute to design, integration, and installation of hardware and software

• Update and build network diagrams as needed

• Document designs and procedures

• Provides on-call support during both business and non-business hours as established and in accordance with company’s Policies and Procedures

• As a voice provider, there will be needs to interact with the voice team to help get network issues corrected. The position doesn’t require direct voice engineering but how to interact with it in networking is vital.


Good understanding of TCP/IP

• Must understand routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, IS-IS

• Basic understanding of telecom and telecom networks

• Network certifications a plus, but not required

• Experience with Juniper/Cisco platforms are a plus (primarily Juniper)

• Must understand firewalling and security concepts

• Basic support-level understanding of wireless

• Must be familiar with NMS systems, AAA and syslog

• Must show a deep troubleshooting/problem solving methodology

• Familiarity with SD-WAN and surrounding concepts

• Must understand MPLS concepts and related technologies

• Basic understanding of voice concepts and how to interact with it from a provider network standpoint
